ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories ) is an operating standard for systematic planning of Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) in a laboratory management scheme.
ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 covers general requirements over competence of testing and/or calibration (including sampling). It includes tests and calibrations that use standard methods, non-standard methods, or methods developed by the laboratory. It is applicable to all organizations that take place of tests and/or calibrations, including the first party, the second party and the third party laboratories, as well as the testing and/or calibrating laboratory that conduct partial testing and/or calibration of the product. A laboratory conforming to this standard is qualified to issue authentic test reports.
