iST June 2023 Revenue Report, Sets New Revenue Record

Issued Date: 2023/07/10
Issued By: iST

iST(TWSE:3289), an IC analysis and verification lab of electronic industry, today (July 10, 2023) announced its net revenues on a consolidated basis, revenues for June 2023 were approximately NT$337 million, representing an increase of 0.20% MoM and an increase of 6.12% YoY. Revenue has reached a new high for two consecutive months, indicating strong operational performance. The cumulative revenue from January to June reached NT$1.954 billion, with a YoY growth of 9.44%.

iST stated that its revenue has reached a new high for two consecutive months, driven by advanced processes, advanced packaging, automotive electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, HPC, and other factors that stimulate demand for materials analysis (MA), failure analysis (FA), and reliability verification (RA). With the expected flourishing development of electric vehicles and AI demand, iST anticipates entering a rapid growth period in its operations.

In the electric vehicle (EV) sector, iST has observed that despite the continued sluggishness in the consumer electronics market in the second half of the year, IC design customers have started early adjustments and invested resources in non-consumer applications, particularly in automotive electronics. The functions of automotive electronics have become clear and prominent in recent years. This includes display driver ICs, Ethernet chips, Bluetooth chips, and other areas where major consumer IC design companies are actively involved in automotive applications.

Furthermore, there have been clearer definitions of automotive passive components in international automotive standards. With the gradual popularity of electric vehicles and autonomous cars, automotive passive components are being extensively used. The Automotive Electronics Council (AEC), the highest authority in global automotive electronics, recently revised the AEC-Q200 specification for automotive passive components. The number of component types has increased from 14 to 16, and the testing conditions have become clearer and more specific. Therefore, it is expected to drive a wave of verification and analysis projects.

Regarding the application of AI, iST further points out that there has been an explosion of generative applications, driving the demand for related AI GPUs. This has also injected vitality into the weak consumer electronics market, leading to a shortage in advanced packaging capacity. These chips rely heavily on heterogeneous integration technology which need to overcome heat dissipation issues to improve yield. iST has deep expertise in advanced packaging verification and analysis, and with the current AI boom garnering much attention, it has driven operational performance to reach new heights for two consecutive months.

Looking ahead, with iST’s leading position in reliability verification (RA), failure analysis (FA), material analysis (MA), and signal integrity testing, iST will be at the forefront of the era, assisting customers in research and development at a faster pace and creating greater value. iST will uphold its core values of being the “best assistant in product development” and the “best defender in quality control” as it collaborates with electronic industry customers worldwide. The prospects for iST’s operations in the second half of the year are promising.
