iST(TWSE:3289) today (August 10, 2020) announced its net revenues on a consolidated basis, the revenues of July 2020 were approximately NTD$ 250 million, which decreased 5.18% MoM and increased 12.22% YoY, compared to the revenues NTD$ 223 million of July 2019.
iST said, it has kept receiving orders in July, and most of them were required for 5G chip research and development such as HPC and AI products. However, due to the longer verification time of these projects, these orders will not closed until the end of this season, and thus the revenues of July decreased 5.18% MoM but still increased 12.22% YoY.
iST is a laboratory for verification and tests of electronic industry in Taiwan. It has provided one-stop verification solutions including Reliability Verification (RA), Failure Analysis (FA), and Material Analysis (MA) to thousands of customers over the past 26 years. iST’s customers cover the whole spectrum of the global electronics industry from IC design house, wafer foundry to packaging and testing factory, it is also a third-party impartial laboratory recognized by many global brands.
iST pointed, while COVID-19 continues to ravage the world, 5G development is seen as a way to break through weak economies and thus many countries have accelerated the construction of 5G. The mobile device features smaller and thinner dimension as well as the low power consumption and to the 5G infrastructure and the cloud server, these will be the driving force of verification requirements in research and development stage of high-end 5G chips.
