iST Q2 2015 Revenue Report

iST (TWSE:3289) today (Jul 15, 2015) announced its self- clearing financial statement of Q2 2015 on a consolidated basis.

  1. Revenues for Q2 2015 totaled NT$ 472 million, a decrease of 4.69% and 0.05% respectively, while compared to Q1 2015 and Q2 2014;
  2. Pretax profit in Q2 2015 was approximately NT$ 144 million, an increase of 166.21% from Q1 2015 and an increase of 41.67% while compared to Q2 2014;
  3. While EPS for Q2 was approximately NT$2.52, a sharp increase of 147.06% from the previous quarter, and a great increase of 52.57% compared to the same period in 2014;

iST said, on June 30, iST officially sold 51% of the shares in DEKRA iST Reliability Services Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “ DEKRA iST Taiwan”) and DEKRA iST Reliability Services Limited, (hereinafter referred to as DEKRA iST Kunshan), which are both wholly-owned iST subsidiaries to DEKRA, an Europe’s leading verification and certification authority.

This joint venture could help to strengthen both parties’ capabilities of first-class testing and certification services in fields of automotive, LED and medical electronics.

iST further said, DEKRA, with a history of nearly 90 years, is the biggest world’s leading expert organization in vehicle safety testing and inspections. DEKRA’s business turnover is about 100 billion TWD. DEKRA does periodical vehicle inspection for around 26 million vehicles annually. DEKRA’s clients are including quite amount of famous European automotive manufacturers. Currently, DEKRA maintains a presence in 50 countries in Europe as well as in the USA, Britain, and Asia.

As well as iST itself is the third party lab and is certificated by Tier 1 vehicle component suppliers, Continental Automotive and Delphi. Base on the certain strength on the automotive test, combining DEKRA’s superiority of the international access, iST can approach international automotive manufacturers, which can drive thousands and hundreds of upstream supply chains to conduct tests. This move will not only give Dekra IST’s a rosy outlook but also have a chance to increase iST’s case quantity.

A look ahead to the iST’s Q3, as the smart product testing cases are closing successively, and the continually higher revenue of Material Analysis, as well as the great demand of Reliability Assurance and Failure Analysis. What’s mentioned above has made iST’s capacity remain at a high level, and iST is optimistic at the revenues in Q3.
