iST January 2015 Revenue Report

iST(TWSE:3289) today (Feb 10, 2015) announced its net revenues on a consolidated basis, the revenues for January 2015 were approximately NT$166 million. Month over month, the consolidated revenue increased 1.80%, and a sharp 31.10 % increase from the same period of 2014, which implied that iST’s earlier strategy on the expansion of human resource and equipment in Q4 2014 has worked gradually and played a part in the revenue of January.

iST said, the stable performance of sales in January resulted from the following, first, the continuous demand of several big customers in the Material analysis and HDMI certification of iST Taiwan, as well as the constant growth of a subsidiary of iST, ITS (Innovative Turnkey Solution Corporation). On top of that, since the China government has focused on the semi-conductor industry, the growth of verification demand also increased the sales of iST’s subsidiaries in China.

iST indicated that after becoming an official Simplay™ Labs ATC for HDMI® 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 last October. Earlier this year, Simplay™ Labs, LLC reviewed and approved iST Taiwan’s capabilities to conduct compliance testing for MHL®3.2, which not only means that iST becomes the exclusive lab represented Simplay™ Labs for MHL®3.2 but also the first MHL®3.2 ATC in Taiwan appointed by MHL Consortium.

Meanwhile, iST also announces its completion of the first MHL®3.2 Sink & Source compliance tests in Taiwan for TV monitor and Mobile customers. For the customers, they have not merely set a milestone in the A/V market in Taiwan, better still, they are rare A/V product companies passed MHL®3.2 certification by a third-party lab in the Asia market.

iST further pointed out the good news in the China market—iST Shanghai has officially passed the application of the high-tech enterprise by the China government . As the semi-conductor industry has been the focus of China government attention, the government continually offers many policies to accelerate the self-sufficiency rate of the IC design and manufacture in multi-pronged way. While the semi-conductors companies in China need the professional third-party lab as iST to raise the yield of product quality with reliability test and failure analysis.

By being the high-tech enterprise, iST Shanghai is entitled to cut down the corporate tax rate from 25% to 15%, which not only means that iST plays an important role in the semi-conductor field in China, but the revenue of verification test of iST will also be promoted by this strong growth of semi-conductor in China.
