iST June 2014 Revenue Report

Issued Date: 2014/7/10
Issued By: iST

iST(TWSE:3289) today (July 10, 2014) announced its net revenues on a consolidated basis, revenues for June 2014 were approximately NT$168 million, an increase of 13.06% from the same period in 2013, and 9.02% increase from last month, which set a monthly Top 1 record ever. Moreover, revenue for the first half of year is NT$875 million, an increase of 11.66% from last year.

iST said, “revenue of June delivered a brilliant result, owing to the success of the operation strategy, including the growing demands of verification analysis of Cross platform system, such as Smart hand-hold devices, Automotive electronics and LED market. On top of that, ITS (Innovative Turnkey Solution), a subsidiary company of iST, has set a highest record of sales for two months in a row, which drove iST group’s consolidated revenue of May and June to break another record .

iST also has a good tidings on the China market. Recently iST has been approved by Tier 1 branding vehicle companies, which driven from downstream to the upstream suppliers to perform the reliability test on products. This gradually unleashing chain effect enables iST to get more opportunities to enter into the upstream manufacturers market as IC design houses, component factories, ECU module companies.

No less impressive for the June performance of iSTHQ in Taiwan. Since 2012, Philips Lighting has contributed the most production capacity in LED test of iST and undoubted the service of iST. This June, Philips Lumileds, a subsidiary of Philips Lighting completed their LED ability cooperated with iST. Staying on top of LED verification, iST takes an optimistic look at future sales.

Walking always ahead of times and industries, iST never stops in technology R&D. Continuing the success of the first generation, iST introduced this year the specific WLCSP circuit edit preprocessing engineering method. With the rise of wearable and smart handheld devices, WLCSP featuring smaller and thinner packaging size meets the trend of being slim and lightweight, thus fulfilling the demand of increasing clients.

However, IC products packaged with WLCSP are confronted with two big challenges in FIB circuit edit. Most parts of circuits at the lower layers of an IC are covered by the bump and the RDL (redistribution layer) and cannot be edited. Even if there are circuits not covered by the bumps and RDLs, as the organic passivation on top is thicker, greater effort and more time is needed to edit these circuits.

The second-generation WLCSP circuit edit technology is the solution for these products. With specific preprocessing engineering methods, circuits under the bump, RDL, or organic passivation can be edited without problems (see Figure 1). Compared to the first generation circuit edit method using metal conductors, the second-generation WLCSP circuit edit technology can significantly reduce editing time by 50% and double the yield rate.

iST’s first generation WLCSP FIB circuit has successfully help many power management, analog, and multimedia IC design houses and mobile phone chipset developers ensure product launch just in time.

By upgrading R&D technology and equipment, iST hopes to help IC designers requiring advanced packaging to act more straightforwardly, swiftly, and fast in circuit verification, debug, and failure analysis, so as to shorten the time to market.
