iST announces that Simplay Labs, LLC reviewed and approved its capabilities to conduct compliance testing for HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2, appointing iST as an official Simplay Labs ATC partner.

iST has observed that when 4K panel production expands gradually, manufacturers of TV sets, STBs and displays have actively launched developments of ultra-high-definition (UHD) products in the current year, attracting the eyes of consumers with images of more exquisite clearness, therefore driving the needs of a new generation of high-speed AV transmission interface.

The MHL Consortium and HDMI Forum have recently released MHL 3.0 and HDMI 2.0 specifications with increased transmission speed and bandwidth, and incorporated support of high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) version 2.2, ensuring the secure delivery of premium content.

William Cheng, VP of Sales at iST, says that Simplay Labs is the largest global tester of mobile and consumer electronics products supporting high-speed transfer interfaces such as HDMI, MHL and HDCP standards. iST has actively sought the partnership, signed an agreement early in June, and together will deploy the most comprehensive test and accreditation platform in Taiwan covering from IC design to the system end, providing one-stop solutions for all the customers upstream, midstream and downstream.

Cheng further notes, after months of cooperation, training and on-site audit of our plant, Simplay Labs and DCP, LLC have officially approved iST as the Simplay Labs HDMI/HDCP ATC partner in Taiwan. Relevant chip and module developers as well as cable, connector and system manufacturers can now consult iST on the test application and certification procedures of the fully integrated HDMI and HDCP tests.
