iST Authorized as USB Power Delivery (PD) Independent Test Lab by USB-IF

Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C. April 10, 2024 – iST (TWSE:3289), with the global technology industry continuing its pursuit of innovation and sustainable development, iST is honored to announce today, on April 10, that we have officially obtained authorization from the USB Implementers Forum, Inc. (USB-IF) to become a USB Power Delivery (PD) Independent Test Lab. This designation enables us to assist clients in verifying whether their products can correctly transmit and receive power, ensuring compliance with the latest USB-IF Power Delivery 3.1 technical standards and specifications, and obtaining the corresponding logo certification.

This marks a significant breakthrough for iST in the field of electronic product certification, demonstrating our ability to provide high-quality testing services that comply with the latest international standards.

The European Union is expected to announce by the end of 2024 that USB Type-C must be used as the single charging port for 13 categories of electronic products, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, digital cameras, headphones and charging cases, handheld gaming devices, portable speakers, e-readers, keyboards, computer mice, portable navigation devices, and wearable devices. This measure aims to promote product interoperability, reduce electronic waste, and bring greater convenience to consumers.

As an officially Authorized Independent Test Lab, iST is now able to provide testing services in accordance with the IEC 62680-1-2:2021 international standard specifications for the aforementioned 13 categories of products. IEC 62680-1-2:2021 specifies the use of USB Power Delivery to ensure that the charging performance and safety of products meet the highest international standards.
