The leading brand of IT verification test service provider, iST announced today (Mar 8, 2016) that it has a great breakthrough in China’s automotive verification market. Together with DEKRA iST and DEKRA, iST has signed strategic cooperative letter of intent with Changchun FAW Automobile Trade Park Development Group Co., Ltd. ( hereafter referred as “FAW”), a subsidiary of FAW Group, the biggest automobile group of mainland China.
Founded in 1953, nicknamed the cradle of automobile industry in China, FAW group produced its very first car in 1956, opening up the mass production of vehicle history of China. Thus far, all kinds of automobile production and sales of FAW group have reached more than 24 million units. In recent years, FAW group has created joint ventures with Volkswagen, Audi, Toyota, GM and Mazda to run large enterprises of vehicle manufacture.
iST said, this strategic cooperative letter of intent reveals that FAW can enlist iST, DEKRA iST and DEKRA with the experience of automotive verification and supplier chain management to assist its FAW vehicle secondary service system[*Note1]and Changchun FAW spare resources co., LTD[*Note2]in the maintenance and development of the aftermarket service.
This corporation not only indicates the branding car makers in China have been paying more attention to the quality of the automotive component and moving closer to international standards; but also means iST, DEKRA iST and DEKRA will guard a pass for the quality of FAW’s automotive spares and service depots as the roles of third-party test laboratories and important partners with FAW.
iST pointed, this move is a further step to enter the branding vehicle market in China after last year building “DEKRA iST”, a joint venture with DEKRA, the biggest world’s leading expert organization in vehicle safety testing and inspections.
iST further said, this is not the first time for iST stepping into China’s automotive market. In 2015, iST has assisted Unicore Communication, a chip supplier to get AEC-Q100 certification with the other branding car maker, Changan Automobile. Since 90’, iST has been playing a third-party notary laboratory of branding companies, cooperating with Dell, Cisco, the recent global mobile brand and the Changan Automobile last year, which means iST has never absent in the industry trends.
