iST Enters Into Strategic Alliance With Simplay Labs to Offer HDMI 2.0/MHL 3.0/HDCP 2.2 Testing

HSINCHU, Taiwan, June 3, 2014 – iST, a leader in certification services of electronic products, today announced it entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Simplay Labs, the leading provider of standards compliance and interoperability testing services for consumer electronics (CE) and mobile devices, to give its customers access to the full suite of testing capabilities for HDMI® 2.0 (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), MHL® 3.0 (Mobile High-Definition Link), and HDCP 2.2 (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) enabled devices. Effective immediately, with support from Simplay Labs, iST customers are able to submit their products to iST for standards compliance and interoperability testing.

HDMI 2.0 Specification

Released in September 2013, the HDMI 2.0 Specification expands audio and video features for consumer electronics applications by offering a significant increase in bandwidth (up to 18 Gbps) to support 4K Ultra HD resolution, 32 audio channels, as well as dynamic auto lip-sync and extensions to CEC. MHL 3.0 Specification

Released in August 2013, the MHL 3.0 Specification addresses the latest consumer requirements for connecting a mobile device to displays, featuring major advancement in the areas of audio and video transmission over an MHL link.
