iST(TWSE:3289) today (April 10, 2018) announced its net revenues on a consolidated basis, the revenues of March 2018 were approximately NT$264million. The consolidated revenue MoM and YoY increased 11.08 % and 8.73 %, respectively.

iST said, following the increasing verification case-in quantity of Automotive Electronics, IoT, 5G, AI, Advanced Process in Semiconductor Manufacturing and other services required by the semiconductor customers after the Lunar New Year, the revenues of March 2018 reached the third monthly record.

iST provided its insight into the Automotive Electronics. With the rapid development of global Automotive Electronics industry, the Institute for Information Industry (III) estimated that the output value of this industry will be reaching to USD$48.78 billion in 2020. This strong momentum has made the Automotive Electronics market become the most attractive target for Semiconductor, Micro-electronics and related manufacturers, which has driven the testing demand.

iST pointed specially on the verification demand of Board Level Reliability(BLR) and Automotive LED, as these two are the most popular testing items recently and meanwhile, they are the strengths of iST and its related company DEKRA iST respectively.

iST further indicated on the Board Level Reliability Test (BLR) for Automotive Electronics. The AEC Q-104 specification for Multichip Modules (MCM), released last month by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC), has eventually eliminated the problem of testing by IC or module specification for complex multichip types including MCM, System in Package (SIP), and Stacked chips. In addition, the AEC-Q104 is the first automotive industry specification of its kind to define Board Level Reliability Test (BLR).

As soon as the release of AEC-Q104 specification, iST has received relevant inquiries from many international chip manufacturers. This suggests not only the specification is quite important, but also expects to boost iST’s future revenues on Automotive electronics verification service.

As for the verification on Automotive LED, there is also a good news comes to DEKRA iST, the related company of iST. AEC-Q102 specification, the newest general international standard for Automotive LED has been released by AEC for Automotive LED last year, the main purpose is to define the standard for discrete optoelectronic components before entering into the automotive market. As soon as it released, DEKRA iST has received request from Jufei Optoelectronics, the leading LED backlight enterprise listed in China, and after four months of rigorous verification, DEKRA iST has assisted Jufei in obtaining the AEC-Q102 Automotive LED certification.
