iST together with its joint venture, DEKRA iST made a remarkable breakthrough in the field of reliability verification and testing.
Announced recently iST has entered Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DEKRA iST and America’s leading reliability designer DfR Solutions (DfR). Jointly these three parties start offering one-stop solution of reliability design and verification services over automotive electronics and advanced electronics applications of next generation for customers in East Asia, effective from today.
DfR has been leading the reliability design industry since its foundation in 2005. This is especially the case in unmanned vehicles, electric cars, and cutting edge products which mandate rigorous custom reliability design witnessed by its long-term customer base including Boeing, Tesla, Nvidia, GE, and GM.
iST found electronic product manufacturers in East Asia are being blocked out of the supply chain of next generation electronic product application, unmanned vehicles, ADAS, AI, and smart appliance to name a few, due to failure in reliability verification.
DEKRA iST also observed from its hands-on experience that the manufacturers desperately need a reliability verification method which is more suitable for its new field or new application products to assure the safety of long-term usage after product introduction in today’s fast-changing technology.
In addition, the cutting edge electronic product application requires supply chain manufacturers to evolve from the “Design for Function Concept” for consumer chip into the quality level cored “Design for Reliability”. As unmanned pilot, aviation, and AI is concerned, “Custom Reliability Test Program” is mandated in finding product design weakness and ensuring product quality instead of relying on generic international reliability specification alone.
The joint announcement by DfR, iST, and DEKRA iST noted: “This MoU suggests the test operation partnership among all parties in future. iST ,as well as DEKRA iST, with dominant position in Asia’s electronic industry verification and analysis sector, world class reliability verification test, and deep penetration in East Asia markets for long time, partnering with DfR in reliability design in next generation cutting edge product is set to assist East Asian OEM and ODM customers to raise product reliability quality, fast charging into supply chain of premium markets, and creating new era for business of all parties in the said region.”
