iST(TWSE:3289) today (Sep 10, 2015) announced its net revenues on a consolidated basis, the revenues for August 2015 were approximately NT$188 million. Month over month, the consolidated revenue increased 0.86%, and increased 11.94% from August 2014, which set a highest month record in the history.

iST said, effective from July, iST officially sold 51% of the shares in Dekra IST Reliability Services Inc. (DEKRA IST Taiwan”) and DEKRA IST Reliability Services Limited, (DEKRA IST Kunshan), which are both wholly-owned iST subsidiaries to DEKRA, an Europe’s leading verification and certification authority.

Even though the above change has relinquished 15-20% share of iST’s revenue since July (only accounted 49% of profit in quarterly report), the total revenue of August as well as July’s did not fall off 15-20%, but hit the record high resulted from the closing of the international smart product projects, and the high demands of Material Analysis, Reliability Assurance and Failure Analysis.

In spite of the market takes a conservative look of the electronic industry of H2, the business field of iST is more related to the new opening R&D projects instead of the single product sales number. iST observed, the amount of R&D opening and revision projects maintain in a certain level and shows no recession, which explains why iST stands apart in the semiconductor industry while many are revising guidance down.

iST does not only focus on the consumer products but also has a foot-hold in the Automotive electronic product verification. Besides established companies with DEKRA; iST also works together with China’s dominating car manufacturer, Changan Automobile (Changan) and Unicore Communication (Unicore), a navigation chip supplier, and announced the BDS (BeiDou Navigation Satellite System) based car navigation chip UC220, is now certified compliant with the reliability quality specification of Automotive Electronics Council (AEC). The strict and comprehensive AEC-Q100 specification takes a whole year in two phases to be certified successfully

Changan and Unicore said coincidentally that, iST will be highly welcomed in partnering with them in the field of quality certification, not only for its brilliant cross-strait testing team but also its professional solutions in each stage of the certification process, which is critical to this perfect outcome. And hope to have more cooperation with iST in the new products in future.
